Surrendering/re-homing options and last litter program
Our top priority is to rescue abandoned animals from overflowing local and rural pounds, however if we have foster carers available we endeavour to also help with owner surrenders as well. We also offer an assisted re-home program when room doesnt permit for us to take an animal into care and lastly, we also offer the 'last litter program'.
Assisted Re-Home
When space doesnt permit, we are still more than happy to help you with the process of rehoming your pet. Having the help of a rescue organisation like ours when re-homing your pet, can help avoid your pet ending up in the hands of the wrong people. We have a strict adoption process and find loving, committed homes for all of our animals.
*Please note that we do charge an adoption fee to the new owners for your pet. This adoption fee go's back to THAR and helps us continue to rescue animals in need.
The process
1. Make sure your pet is up to date with vetwork (vaccinated, microchipped and desexed)
2. Take a few good quality photos of your pet and be preparred to take more photos each and week to send to us (this helps spark peoples interest in your pet)
3.Fill in one of our surrender forms below (this allows us to get as much information about your pet as possible and find the perfect fit for your pet)
4.We will then start advertising your pet on our social media pages. We will be in touch with any applications we receive.
5. If you are happy with the application, you can then contact the applicant and arrange a meet and greet with them and your pet.
6. After the meet and greet, if you are happy with how everything went and believe the applicant is a good fit for your pet, you notify us and we email all of the relevant adoption information to the applicant, including adoption contract, microchip change forms etc.
Last litter program information
The last litter program aims to help reduce the number of unwanted animals ending up in local pounds and we offer this program for both cats and dogs. The way in which the program works, is by people surrendering a litter of puppies or kittens into our care and in return, we get the mother cat or dog desexed for free. This saves any future unwanted litters being born and means that the current litter get all of their vet work done through us. The current litter will go on to find loving, committed homes and because they will be desexed, this will help with the cycle of unwanted, abandoned animals in pounds.
